Protect the people who handle your church’s money.

The Financial Process Inspection follows the money from the offering plate to the bank and reports what we see to your finance committee.

Once a year.
During the week.
Never on Sunday.

This isn’t an investigation.

Most churches trust the people handling their money, and they should. But your bookkeeper keeps the books, and no one checks the process behind them.

An annual inspection protects your treasurer, your counters, and your staff by showing the process works, and it gives your finance committee something solid to stand on.

What we look at

Table outlining nonprofit financial audit areas, including offerings and deposits, bills and reimbursements, payroll and benefits, restricted funds, benevolence, access, and bookkeeping policies for Harvest Advisory Group.

What your finance committee receives

Before the inspection: reviewing governing documents and financials to determine focus areas.
Text slide reading “After the inspection” with a description of a written report for the finance committee and a meeting to review it.

How it works

The questionnaire

A few questions about your church's size and finances, so we can give you an exact price.

Sign and upload

You upload what we need through a secure portal. PDFs, scans, and CSV files are fine.

Before we visit

We review your documents and tell you where we'll focus.

The visit

During the week, never on Sunday. We walk through how money actually moves.

Your committee meeting

You get a written report for your finance committee, and we meet with them to walk through it.

Each year after

We follow up on last year's observations and look closer at one area.

What we’ll ask for

□ Bylaws and written financial policies

□ The last 12 months of financial reports

□ The last 12 months of statements for every bank account

□ The last 12 months of statements for every church card

□ A list of designated funds and their balances

□ A recent payroll summary and staff list

□ Policies and Procedures

□ A list of everyone who can sign checks, bank online or use a card

What it is

A consulting engagement

We look at how money is handled and recommend practical fixes.

What it isn’t

Not a fraud investigation

We aren't looking for wrongdoing. If something concerning comes up, we'll make you aware of it.

Not bookkeeping

Your church keeps its own bookkeeper. We don't take over your books.
